Welcome to Tae Kwon Do!
Tae Kwon-Do is the Korean Art of self-defence and means ‘Art of Hand and Foot Fighting’. It is a version of an ancient form of unarmed combat practised for many centuries in the Orient. Tae Kwon Do came to be perfected in its present form in Korea. Tae Kwon Do indicates the technique of unarmed combat for self-defence, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks, dodges and interception with the hand, arms and feet to the rapid destruction of the opponent.
The instructor, Neil Holdsworth is a 3rd Dan black belt and has trained in Tae Kwon Do for 16 years under the instruction of Master Kenny Walton, 8th Dan. Neil Holdsworth is a fully qualified martial arts instructor, backed by the TAGB/BTC (British Tae-Kwon-Do Council), has full indemnity insurance, enhanced CRB check and is a qualified First Aider, umpire and referee.
Neil is still actively competing at local, national and international tournaments and has had various top 3 results in all 3 disciplines (Sparing, Traditional Patterns & Destruction).
In the days of increasingly violent attacks, it is now more than ever, becoming increasingly necessary for men and women to be prepared to protect themselves. More and more people are turning to martial arts for protection and Tae Kwon-do can certainly provide this. It is safe, practical and most of all enjoyable for both adults and children alike. Why not take that first step and give it a try?
